WWeek reports that Oregonian high-level editor Tom Detzel has joined former O editor Stephen Engelberg at ProPublica, a national non-profit sponsoring investigative journalism.
And over at the blog "More Hockey Less War" (which frankly seems like an oxymoron if the hockey games I've been to are any indication), Steve Rawley says his sources are telling him the O intends to close some bureaus and cut staff, with a reduction of 50 staff positions company-wide the goal. I have no idea who his sources are, so take that as you will.
Update: The Gresham Outlook has confirmed that the O is closing its Gresham, Tigard and Vancouver bureaus. South Metro and West Metro are reportedly staying open.
