Nobody's sucking up to the Blazers... Honestly--it's about doing the right thing. Nothing more.
No, you don't NEED to send a crew anywhere---that's the core of this debate: It's where do you CHOOSE to play your cards for the public's benefit.
As for your question:

The answer is that the Blazer draft is not only NOT an every day thing--It's a once every one or two decades thing.
