Is a pretty darn good analysis. KPTV runs one of the most successful news operations in America. They are consistent, they know their mission, and like what they do or not, viewers know exactly what they're going to get. And they win even bigger when other stations in the market try to copy them (in certain ways.) I would hope that KPTV one day would get more serious about news. Heck, keep doing the crime if you have to, to attract viewers, but then give me something I really should know. A good 2 or 3 minute piece on a topic no one else will touch that really effects me. That's my hope. KPTV has had a great sense of tapping into what's popular and truly I believe if they can sell the more in depth pieces to their viewers it may someday happen. I hope.
