And that's putting it too dramatically, but you know what I mean.

Every pro and former pro here understands how the biz works. Any of us could be shown the door at any time for any reason. It's HOW you're shown the door.

This hasn't been done very professionally. From what I hear as late as last night management were *still* telling staff Ed was "on vacation." And judging by the phone calls from various lawyers over the years, KOIN management reads OMI as avidly as the staffers, possibly more so. They know the word is out there as to what's really happening.

My charitable guess is that they're still hoping they can talk Ed into a proper send-off and that Ed's digging in his heels, but that's speculation.

My uncharitable guess is that they're still trying to figure out what/how to tell people without giving Ed more legal cannon fodder, which is kinda the bass-ackwards way around things considering that pretty much everyone knew Ed wasn't going to go quietly. You figure out the story *first* and then you make your move. sheesh.
