thoughts on rumors...

It took along time to confirm the Goldschmidt story, perhaps too long, but none the less, you can't print rumors. There are rumors about a different previous mayor and physical abuse of his wife, and I've even heard nasty rumors about Lars too... what if they are true? What if they are NOT true?
Look at what happened to Robert Ball when he repeated the rumors about Sam Adams.
I could see where Guisto might have been in a position to know the truth via Margie Goldschmidt, but Kulongoski?
