Freelancer, Goldschimdt has acknowledged that the relationship (or whatever you want to call it) did indeed take place. However, the idea that his conduct was "beyond criminal" is absurd. Yes, it was unbecoming of a public official, and yes, it was/is illegal in the state of Oregon, but it hardly compares to forcible rape. Let's get a grip: Many countries (and, I believe, at least a few states) consider 14-year-olds to be capable of giving consent. It's not like he assaulted a five-year-old.
There are NO U.S. States where it is legal for a person over 21 to have a physical relationship with a person 14 years old. It was rape then and it remains rape even in todays society. LARS isn't the problem, people like YOU ARE. Neil & Ted are perfect examples of old-school politicians who believe that they can avoid answering tough questions and cover up the truth.
Ted IS guilty of an ethics violation if he knew about Neil's CRIMINAL ACTS. This isn't going to go away without answers because the majority of Oregonians understand right from wrong.
