Ex-OMI Watch: Mak to CRISTA Ministries

Submitted by LynnS on Thu, 03/13/2008 - 12:50pm.

Totally missed this. Via pdxradio, we see that ex-CBS cluster manager Stan Mak has landed at CRISTA Ministries, a religious broadcaster in Seattle, as VP/GM of the station group that includes KCMS 105.3, KCIS 630AM, and PRAISE 106.5:

“Stan has a history of managing multi-station clusters and is known for his strategic thinking as well as his ‘building leaders’ and ‘compassionate management’ style. Throughout his 27 years in broadcast management Stan has left his mark of increasing value to those stations he has managed”, says Bob Lonac, President & CEO of CRISTA.

He started 2/2/08.

[Edited to correct the spelling of Stan's first name--it was a typo.--L]

"Strategic Thinking, Building leaders and compassionate management style." What a pantload!

Maybe he can say his beads and ask forgiveness for a career of ineptness and ill-gotten, misplaced EEO opportunities.

Yech!!!

Stan Mak is a great guy...and one of the few people who truly understood what KINK was all about. I know because I worked with Stan for many years.

But what's more concerning is your thinly-disguised racist comment about "misplaced EEO opportunities"?

So, just exactly how big of a jackass are you in real life?

What a jerk.

i'm not a radio insider, but i used to talk to some a few years ago, and Mak had a geat reputation then. the eeo remark from anonymous sounds sourly grapey to me. can someone who knows better speak up??

I don't know Stan Mak on a business level, but i feel he is the type of person who can identify your strengths and help you build on that. I only just met Stan in the Fall of 1969 where we attended College. Taught me enough about Kung Fu in one month to give me confidence in any situation for the rest of my life - when we were just Sophomores. I can tell you he has many friends because he is smart, forgiving, and with grace unlike someone who needs to remain 'anonymous' with their life.
Thank you Stan the Man - from an old friend.
