My guess? They're TV people, and they're dumb about technology. They probably also don't have accounts with sites like YouTube or Digg or anywhere else that will let them use the site without an account.

Also, they're paranoid. They think their bosses will figure out who they are from the way they write. That's how they caught Ted Kaczynski...
