I don't comment as much as I want (turns out I don't always have that much to say) but when I found myself commenting more than once or twice I thought, heck, just get a login.

I've prided myself on being a fairly public person in the local scene, if not the most popular. At least when you read one of my comments, what you see is what you get. That's me there.

Also, commenting is just plain easier. You get a blog to post prattle if you want. You don't have to wait for your comments to be approved. You get a little more credibility, at least as a wag. What's not to like about this.

The last poster made a remark about TV people. I don't agree so much that they're dumb about tech (although I could be wrong; I own a Mac, work on PCs at work, and I know people at work who work on PCs all day long and still couldn't tell you how to double-click to start an app) but that it's just not prudent to post your opinion about the inner workings of your company (on which point you're under an assumption of confidentiality anyway) and if you have a bad thing to say about anybody you could probably expect to wind up fired.

I'm not saying anything necessarily about the state of Portland TV or any of their personnel. I think the above is a common thing to consider whereever you go in our society; I recall specifically the flight attendant blogger who was canned after she posted some extremely tame glamour shots of herself in the cabin of a plane that was being cleaned (the most she flashed was a little leg. That said, it was some pretty hot leg ...)

Further disclaimer: I do not have a job at a television station. I would not turn one down if one were offered, however. One of you TV stations must have some need for an avuncular underemployed graphic designer with a PCC degree who loves blogging and writing. C'mon you guys!
