Multiple responses: I moderate primarily to keep out spam. I let almost everything else through except sexual innuendo involving real people, and when I get impatient about anonymous "me too" posts. I am not your mama. She should have taught you to be polite, and if she did, and you're still acting like a dickweed on the internets anonymously or no, well, shame on you.

STG's point, and it's one I've made since the site was open, is that it's *handy* to have an account with a screen name. It doesn't have to point to who you are at all. It just gives people a chance to get to know your posts.

I understand why some people are so paranoid that they won't even do that, but I tell you this: If someone comes at me with a subpoena, posting anonymously doesn't help you. Your IP address is logged. Having said that, I seriously doubt anyone's going to be stupid enough to subpoena me. I can't do anything to stop anyone from successfully doing that, but I have good contacts in national media and I'd make sure everyone knew exactly how douchebaggy XYZ Corp is. I wouldn't be the one with the black eye.

As for BSG: I'm going to be at the OAPB shindig, and I don't know if they have SciFi channel on their cable setup. If they do, ROOM PARTY! If they don't, I'll have to catch a repeat.
