I never knew the guy, but enjoyed him from the time we got to Portland. His style reminded me very much of broadcast pros I'd worked with during my formative days in DC and Florida.

It also seems to me that he didn't have that long to enjoy his retirement. What was it? Around 2000 or 2001?
