I've seen this type of reporting in other cities, and frankly McOmie just wasn't that great at it. I'm sure he's a really nice guy and you never like seeing a 22 year veteran let go. But in my opinion, his stories were never that compelling, especially given the near endless supply of great material here in the Northwest.

The real sad part: I'm guessing KATU won't be replacing him with a reporter that works on a comparable beat.
