I was telling friends how much I liked Heidi Tauber, and why she was one of the main reasons I listened to KPOJ in the morning. She has a smiling voice, a great wit, and real talent. How shocked I was to tune in today and find her utterly absent from the show. It reminds me of when Leonid Breshnev was airbrushed from Soviet history. Also, when Al Franken dumped his original female side-kick (I forget her name) - his show went rapidly downhill after that. While I think Carl has improved during his time with KPOJ, he will not be able to carry the show on his own. He comes off as rather pendantic, and needs someone like Heidi to keep him on an even keel. Maybe Heidi will join Thom on his national show (we can only hope!).

How a station like KPOJ can dump one of the best local talents on Portland radio is beyond me.
