I rarely weigh in on stuff like this, but when I did not hear Heidi on the morning show yesterday, just "Carl and Friends" I got this pit in my stomach and started searching the KPOJ website, then Googling, and there was nothing. I am relieved to find at least some information today and a big thank you goes to Oregon Media Insiders for providing it.
I am extremely disgusted with the actions of KPOJ and Clear Channel. If the rumor about her being replaced with a well known personality who was booted from another station has any truth, what then does that say about KPOJ and Clear Channel? Are they hoping to increase profits from this? Gosh, look at what happened with CBS putting Katie Couric in as an anchor - did their ratings not drop?
Heidi is a class act - I felt like I knew her personally, and I considered her a friend that I could listen to in the morning. I look forward to getting her email address so I can write her. I know that she will not be unemployed very long, but I hope whereever she lands she will be doing the work that she loves.
