First off, yes, Mannix's mail piece is beyond sleazy. I hope it will backfire on him, but this is a Republican primary in a district heavily populated by evangelicals who vote with their genitals. (IOW, abortion trumps anything.)

That said, I can't believe that Mike Erickson, whom I've met and for whom I have some personal respect, has run such an empty campaign. Every ad talks only about how Kevin's for taxes and how he's agin' 'em. All the tax votes with which he takes issue are state matters, and this is a national office. Not one word about what Erickson is for.

Both deserve to lose and, though I wouldn't have believed it a month ago, I suspect that by the time the general election is over, they both will have.
