Station Manager created position?

Is this a newly created position then? The title is a little misleading...General Manager and station manager are similar. They should have called him Manager of News Operations and Programming. That would cover his role of KPTV.com, newsroom, and KPDX, etc. duties. Good for him, but that's going to be a big role. I say give him the manager job and hire someone new for the ND position. Prediction, Patrick returns to ND or they higher someone new in the next 3 mos.
