request credentials?

I honestly don't care what the truth is regarding this situation, but the person who left this post just completely discredited themselves by saying that NBC requested KEZI hand over their press credentials. Obviously you know nothing about media credentials for major sporting events. NBC would never request the credentials, then cut a deal when the station balks at their request. They take the credentials, without a second thought. No questions asked. Based on that fact, your entire story is not believable.
