All you have to understand can be learned by looking at the overblown title given to the new CEO who wanted Whelan fired prior to purchasing the KOIN Dinosaur:

Jason Elkin, CEO of NVT [New Vision Television],

New Vision Television - the ultimate con in a universe filled with cons. Elkin is likely just another up and coming broadcast manager who's attempting to claw his way to the top of the mountain so he can land a cushy job at NBC or some other network (FOX comes to mind)

The very term, New Vision Television, makes me shudder. What's new about television?

Reality Programming-costs next to nothing to produce and does next-to-nothing for the viewer.
News broadcasts dominated by nationally-produced fluff pieces touting unnecessary products.
Talk Shows that parade drug-addled movie stars in front of the camera, touting god-awful movies.
Sunday Morning political bromides spouting the same drivel as lawrence Spivak did 30 years ago.
Unending broadcasts of mind-numbing events disguised as Sports.

The list is never ending and NOT New Vision.
