Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience.

I've been an active volunteer for several years. I'm a white guy and have never seen any barriers based on race, gender, age, or any kind of "ism". There are lots of 20 something white males, being happy, participating, learning and contributing.

And the statement about volunteers not allowed in engineering is just flat wrong. Not sure if you are referring to board ops, or the hardware side of things, but volunteer opportunities exist in both of those areas.

KBOO is a Community Radio Station. To be successful, you have to become a member of the community. Figure out how to fit in, pitch in with you labors as needed.
