Thanks for remembering the KATU Oregon travelogue that was part of our sign-off for several years. The 4-minute segment debuted during the last week of August 1976 at the Portland Hilton during K-2’s fall presentation banquet, attended by over 400 media guests. Our chief photographer, Allan Anderson, had traveled all over the region shooting hours of aerial and ground 16mm film footage which I edited alongside director Steve Mueller. We didn’t have the luxury of computerized editing systems back then but used a pair of RCA VTRs and manually assembled the segment to Henry Mancini’s soaring “Symphonic Soul.
