Because none of the climbers wanted their identities released until all were safe and accounted for. The rescue folks and Clackamas County Sheriff's office obliged them, and gave only limited identifications saying they were all from the "Portland area."
When people get into trouble on the mountain, (or anywhere else, for that matter,) they are not seeking the attention of the news media and extraneous do-gooders.
More information will come out as the ill-fated climbing party puts some distance between their ordeal and their ordinary lives.
