Web Theme Change?

Submitted by Farwest on Fri, 01/25/2008 - 1:23am.

So I was just clicking over to KATU's website to check the weather when I noticed a complete dumbed down graphic theme for their header. What's going on? Front page is just a slightly gradient blue with the label "News". Weather is green, and so on and so on. Each page is colored. But nothing else was touched (at least i don't think so). Um... I REALLY liked the techie Steve and Debb look... but this is... dare i say... amateur looking. I mean - sure it's simple and all and calms the busyness of the page a bit, but I don't particularly like it. What are some other stations that have the same web template?

Its been on line for a few days now and I also don't like it. I wonder if they got a new webmaster or the person in charge of the webpage wanted it to change.

Also KOMO's web page is also like this...... i'm looking to see if any other fisher-brand news stations are like this.

Now it seems that little slick search tab/bar at the top is just hunkered on. Before, there were the high tech transparent-ish swoosh thingies which disolved into the achor advertisement sorta thing. I don't think solid colors were the way to go.
