Remember Shawn Taylor, Lars Larson's longtime producer who got fired the Friday before Christmas? Someone reported in that thread that she got hired on to be EP of Thom Hartmann's nationwide Air America show. I pinged Shawn and she said that it is indeed true. And I have to say: That is the most hilarious thing I've heard this week. Congratulations, Shawn! My god it’s got to be a breath of fresh air for her to be Producing T. Hartman show, it’s better then that overbearing pomp’s #$% that she used to work. If her head is screwed on correctly how could she have been on that train wreck called lars larson for so long, at least she as seen the light. Good for her. Pretty much has to be, somehow, that Lars is an ass. I listened to him for 10 minutes today; what a complete ass he is. Viewer Rick Did you also hear that former General Manager(and icon) of OPB is now Acting Station Manager at All Classical 89.9? Maynard Orme, who was still on south Macadam in an emeritus role, has left OPB and is now at KBPS. That's quite a switch of allegiances. And soooo ironic. Samuel John Klein, a/k/a ZehnKatzen What's a former producer of conservative slime doing producing Thom Hartmann? Anyone want to bet on him sabotaging an important broadcast? --Tellos-- Ironic? Perhaps. I won't argue that point. On the other hand, we may simply be talking about a paycheck here. While I'm sure there are those who accept or reject jobs due to their political/moral leanings, more than often that acceptance has to do with paying the bills. In the case of a radio show producer, isn't it possible that its the ink on the check and not who signed it? She left KXL and got a job at KPOJ. Simple as that. It is called Radio. People move around all the time. You get fired by one, you get hired by another. The format/music/talk may not be the issue. A job is. If Shawn is a good producer, it doesn't matter whether it is left or right or automotive or gardening. A producer is a producer, not the air talent. I knew Shawn wouldn't be idle long before someone snatched her up. I had the pleasure of working by her side many times, and she is just top notch. A total professional, smart and great to work with. Hartmann is lucky to have her! Good Luck Shawn! I'm very happy for Shawn ! She is the best. She will do wonders for Thom's show. Shawn was fired by Lars and team and hired by Thom and team. So wondering whom Thom and team had to let go for the position to be open for Shawn? Did previous producer walk away for a better opportunity or was it a similar canning or did someone die? To read that Shawn Taylor is producing Thom Hartmann's Show on Air America Radio is truly wonderful news. I don't know Shawn, but I know she has a long history in Portland radio, including producing for KXL host Lars Larson and former KXL host Bill Gallagher.
I don't listen to KPOJ as often as I once did, but I'm sure she'll be a real asset to the Thom Hartmann Radio Program.
