KXL: Former Lars Producer Sues

Former Lars producer Cherry Williams sues KXL for $1.75 mil, claims wrongful termination according to the O.

Attorneys for Cherry Williams filed suit in Multnomah County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon, claiming she was terminated to deprive her and her disabled husband of company-sponsored health insurance.

Her husband "suffers from an untreatable blood disorder, severe back pain, and sleep apnea," according to the suit.

She was fired Dec. 21, after nearly 15 years at KXL or its predecessor, according to the suit.

I'm trying to learn a little more about this.

Update: Cherry Williams and Shawn Taylor are one and the same, according to sources. So we're talking about one producer, not two, here.

Lynn, I had to search out the original firing story to learn this was a second producer fired that week. Can you find out if Shawn was fired for supporting her.

Cherry and Shawn are the same people. Shawn is her air name. From a Attorney friend of mine, If Shawn was fired because of a personailty conflict between Lars and her and not necessarily her performance, she very well might have a strong case against KXL.

Shawn is a great, hardworking person. She certainly would never be fired over her performance. Lars is also incredibly hard working, but also very, very difficult to work for. His temper is very hot and very quick. If Shawn was suing because of Lars' treatment of her, she would have dozens of suits. However, she seems to be suing the station over a benefit dispute, of which I know nothing. However, knowing her as I do, I can't imagine her making any of this up. Her husband is, indeed, quite ill, that I know for a fact.
