Here's a story you likely won't see on KGW.

The personality they promote weekly on their noon news, who coincidentally sponsors his own segments to hawk his own product, just lost a $2.5 million lawsuit.

Celebrity businessman Junki Yoshida says he'll appeal a more than $2.5 million jury verdict intended to punish him for his conduct toward the owner of a wine bar inside his former Pearl District gallery.

Although the jury set the verdict more than a year ago, an appeal wasn't possible until a final ruling in the case came earlier this month.

junki hasn't been with KGW for months. He took his wok and sauce to another station.

Fact check. Junk Yoshida, has not appeared on KGW since December.

Junki's been gone from KGW's Noon news for quite a while.

Haven't missed him a bit. Always thought Dave Salesky was the only reason to sit through Junki's schtick. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any ads for Yoshida's sauces on 8 for a while either.

But a search of their site for Yoshida doesnt turn up a single news story about the litigation, just recipes through December 2007.
