What's Up at KEZI?

[Changed title because this is more than about Dancer and we have a thread for that convo.--L]

so...Ben McKee who left yesterday for a wider market. Was he chopped?

And what was the reason the great newser, Al Peterson, was released a few months ago, only to pop up alongside Shelley Kurtz of KVAL? What's going on at KEZI? Curious fans of celebrities at the stations deserve to know, don't we?

And, yes, Christie Little...what a darling!

Korenza Burris, you are the best! Are you the first female solo newscaster in the area? John Fischer, there are no words to describe your value to my viewership, your station and the community. Thanks to both of you for

Answer to Ms(?) 5:42 Yesterday:

Here is more context for you:: "no vision" "don't know how" "deep water(s)" "aren't always realistic" "shaggy" "zoikes!" "if he loses" "last-minute" "stuff" "know nothing about".

Most "laughable" of all are your two subject titles: "the problem with ALL of you" and "Thomas...I...Like You..."

Isn't that truly about 75% of your two write-ins? Like the great musician, Miles Davis, once said, you have to hear between the notes to fully appreciate the composition.

What's the latest on Dancer's replacement? Have the guru's chosen a successor to the crown?

My understanding is the news director spent about three full days with a candidate only to lose him to the CBS station in Boise... likely for more money and better livability. KEZI is only offering in the upper 20's for anchors these days.

I have also heard KEZI is telling its reporters the hiring process has "become difficult" because of a lack of applications. They have went away from their solo anchor show of Korrezzza Burris, adding Kim Stark to the set.

I wondered what KEZI was paying their on-air personalities. Within the last month, I found myself following a brand-new Chevy Trailblazer with KEZI's logo all over it. The SUV still had dealer tags, and everything. Very shiny.

The station is in sweeps and has not one daytime reporter.

My understanding is they have scrapped the early evening shows and invested everything into a failing morning show and the only successful slot, the late night.

No kidding. No reporters during the day.

Meanwhile, 13 and 16 are fighting it out with four times the staffing.

9 spends there money on SUVs.

Then who's driving the SUVs? I saw another one last week -- a cute, brand-new Ford Escape. Dealer tags, if I recall, and KEZI branding.

Probably the sales team.

They can't sell a spot for ten cents, so they are hoping "free lunch" gets a few bucks in the pocket.

Just a guess though.
