The Little Cable Show that Could

WWire reports that PDXposed is heading to KGW, into the 7 pm slot starting in September:

[Producer/host Jon] Olson says he'll retain ownership of the show as well as a relationship with Comcast. The show will still be available through Comcast's On Demand program, where it, as well as another Comcast favorite, The Playhouse, have been available ever since the cable giant stopped showing original content on Channel 14.

"After the show ended on Channel 14 I thought we'd end up on FOX-12," says Olson. "But KGW swooped in and grabbed us up."

Which makes me wonder: Was there a bidding war?

ETA: And also? Which show is leaving the current 7-8pm block--Inside Edition or Access Hollywood?

Neither Inside Edition nor Access Hollywood gets bumped. PDXposed runs once a week on Saturday.

Thats a great local show for KGW. Glad to see they picked it up. Thought PDX 49 would though, since they want to be "local" and all.

They probably got a good price on buying the time from KGW. PDExposed will be considered a 'paid program' by FCC rules.

I was in a fantasy football league with him a couple years back. He drafted his entire team while driving down from Seattle. That's multi-tasking. Good for him.

Basically, PDXposed is an infomercial. Advertisers pay to be featured, sort of a mini AM Northwest.

I wonder if any other decent shows from the now defunct CNW 14 will make it to broadcast TV

Olson's egotistical as hell, treats his staff like crap and rascist to boot. Speaking of his fantasy football league, he and his buddies call black people Mondays because "everyone hates Mondays." Best of luck to KGW when it comes to working with Olson.

I won't be 'anonymous'I am Julie, the Production Manager for PDXposed.
Someone sent me your comments, and I feel the need to address them, as part of the staff he supposedly 'treats like crap'.
We are a small staff-4 of us, to be exact, with some co hosts thrown in sometimes. We are like family. We have worked together...mostly unpaid.. for 6 years trying to put together a show that focuses on the fun and postive side of Portland.
Your comments, my friend, are not positive.
It has taken a lot of self determination for Jon to get our show to survive against the odds, and he has had to be the one out there everyday, trying to make the business end of it work and get our show to the next level because he believes in us-Josh, Mike and myself- our show, and himself.
It is unfortunate that comes across to you as egotistical.
As for the racist comment,if any of you know me, you would know that I have no tolerance for comments or thinking like that. None. NEVER. Neither would anyone on my crew.
I would hope that if anyone heard a comment like that they would address it with JOn, me, or anyone else involved in our show directly rather than post in a forum like this, where we are put in the position of having to defend the reputation we have worked hard for.
My email address is julie@pdxposed.com and I welcome you (or anyone) to contact me directly if you have concerns.
Being a small show, we are inexperienced with the 'rumor mill'and honestly, I don't like it much.

I would rather focus on the POSITIVE things that are happening to us! Our trip to Hawaii in 2 weeks to film 2 episodes, our 2 EMMY nominations we recieved last Friday, and our upcoming debut on Newschannel 8 starting in September, Saturdays at 7;00 pm and Sundays at 9:30 pm.

Make good memories everyone.

What a droll, uninteresting program moniker. If this show is given more than a week of air play, I would forever stop watching the channel presenting it. First of all - PDXers are under the mistaken impression that anything of value is actually occurring in PDX - NOT!

Secondly, PDXers want the world to know how "wonderful" and "creative" PDX is - NOT

PDXers still tout the microbrewers as an indicator of PDXer sophistication. All this really indicates is that PDXers are drunken sots focussed on alcoholic consumption.

Beyond that, not much else is happening.
