Serenity on the big screen again!!
Looking to see a great movie? (come on now, it was written and directed by Joss Whedon)
And benefit a great charity....Equality Now !! (www.equalitynow.org )
The PDX Browncoats (fans of Joss' TV show Firefly, and his movie Serenity (as well as Buffy, Angel, and coming in Jan., Dollhouse) are putting together 3 showings of Serenity at the grand Hollywood Theater in NE Portland. All proceeds go to Equality Now.
This will be the 3rd year for this event, which is a global event ( www.cantstoptheserenity.com ); an event that was started right here in Portland!!! With 55 cities participating worldwide!
Portland has generated the most donations every year, and we hope to continue our streak for another year. Please help us continue this great tradition.
Go to www.serenitynow.pdxbrowncoats.com and buy tickets and shirts, and be ready for great raffle items (list being generated now as more items arriving from all over the country). Tickets are also available at the Hollywood and on their website.
Tickets are $15, with showings Friday night, Sat. afternoon, and Sat. night; so at least one showing to fit your busy schedule. Can't make it? You can still buy tickets and donate back to the cause.
Oh, and I almost forgot....another beneficiary of the donations is the Womens Film Initiative ( http://www.filmaction.org/womens_film_initiative.html )
Last year they received $1,000 from our efforts and this year 2 films benefitting from that money will be shown.
