Les Sarnoff: 20 Years

I missed this one yesterday in Mr. Nicholas' column. Les Sarnoff celebrates 20 years on the air at KINK:

Les Sarnoff got an anniversary call Friday from Bonnie Raitt. The redhead thanked the radioman for staying true to the music. For 20 years, Sarnoff has steered mornings on KINK-FM, all the way from albums to iPods. First he survived, then he thrived, by providing Portland just what it wanted: more love, less attitude.

I remember 20 years ago having to call Les at home when KINKs "automation " system decided to puke its carts out at 2 in the morning. What times.

at the Mt. Hood Jazz festival... An audience member holds up a sign, 'More Music, Less Sarnoff'. That being said, he has become less talkative during his morning drive. Congrats on 20 years...
