Via PDXRadio we hear that former KFXX The Fan morning guy Tony Ruzicka has died. He also wrote sports for the Downtowner back in the day.

I was fortunate enough to have had Mr. Poolside take an interest in my writing and chatter when I was first a freelancer in Portland, and I truly did appreciate his attentions. His was an entertaing show and part of a wonderful old school KFXX local lineup along with the great Mike Parker and the one and only Michael Thompson. We were never chums, never did hang out, but I enjoyed his show, and I am truly saddened by this news.

RIP Tony, and may there be drinks with umbrellas in them served by comely servers wherever it is you find yourself.

Wow, just 48 years young. Anybody know how he died?

Be grateful for life, as well as those around you.

I only met Tony a couple of times, but knew that his family loved him very much-----I worked with his wife Lori for many years and remember when they had their first child, bought their home, ect.
-----You are in my thoughts Lori ----I'm sorry to hear about Tony---
